It’s Fall Y’all! Getting Your Home Ready For Autumn

When the days grow shorter and the temperatures begin to cool, it’s time to consider maintenance for getting your home ready for Autumn! Whether you are prepping to sell your home or just keep up on it’s maintenance and curb appeal for your pleasure, here are some great tips for an autumn check list for your home.

Care for your trees and shrubs. Did you know your trees and shrubs need the same amount of moisture year around?  Fall is the time to mulch around trees and shrubs to keep moisture in at their roots. Remember winter droughts may require watering just like a summer drought would.

Rake leaves and remove brush around the home. Leaves, sticks and brush can gather around the home. Cleaning up the debris around the home makes your home more fire safe, along with helping your HVAC unit to run better and improve the curb appeal of the home.

Clean gutters and downspouts. You will want to take time to clear the downspouts and gutters of debris from the summer months.

Seal any gaps that may allow critters and cold air in the home. Be sure to turn outdoor faucets off and store garden hoses.

Lastly, plant your spring flower bulbs for an awesome awakening of Spring! Allium, Buttercup, Crocus, Daffodil, Dutch Iris and Hyacinth are just a few of our favorite blooms we love to see in the Spring.
